Aqua-Detox....................Reflexology....................01241 870211

Sometimes known as zone therapy, reflexology is deeply relaxing and helps many conditions by stimulating the body's own healing processes in order to keep it balanced and heal itself.

The main principle is that by massaging the feet and applying gentle pressure to parts of the feet known as reflex areas or zones, other corresponding and connected areas of the body along that zone will feel the benefit. Every organ, area and system of the body is mirrored by a reflex point on the feet and is stimulated throughout reflexology.

There are more than 7000 nerve endings in the feet.

Reflexology improves blood circulation, improving oxygen and nutrient supply thus increasing the efficiancy of all organs and cells. It improves waste removal and elimination of toxins and blockages within the body. The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are reflex areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands and other parts of the body.

PRECAUTIONS

If you're pregnant talk with your doctor first and let the reflexologist know, be sure to give the reflexologist a complete and accurate health history. If you have foot ulcers, injury or blood vessel disease such as blood clots consult your Doctor before having reflexology

WHAT WILL I FEEL

Most people find reflexology very relaxing, it should not be painful so if you feel discomfort tell your reflexologist who will work within your comfort zone. Some areas may be tender or sore and the reflexologist may spend some extra time on these points. The soreness should decrease with pressure. After reflexology most people feel calm and relaxed, maybe sleepy and occasionally nauseous, anxious or tearful but this is only temporary and is considered to be part of the healing process
